About Provisions Food Shop
Provisions is a small yet perfectly formed shop located in Whitminster, Gloucestershire.
We operate a small cafe, selling hot and cold drinks, croissants, sandwiches and cakes.
Along with our cafe offering we also have a range of store cupboard essentials plus a range of deli items.

Sourcing
We have been very thoughtful about how we source and the impact it makes.
Several factors impact our sourcing...

Our Size - we are too small for many producers, and we usually wouldn't be able to hit their minimum order quantity and would have to buy too much stock - putting pressure on our cash flow and ability to run the business.

Vans on the Road - We stock around 300 individual products from 150 producers - if each of those is delivered directly to us, that is a lot of diesel burnt for our products.

Range - We can introduce new brands and take more risks when working with wholesalers. It means you are less committed to larger volumes.
This has led us to work to have a strategy of buying what we can locally directly from the vendor - usually collected from them to prevent extra deliveries for them. We have combined local sourcing with working with wholesalers - most of our dry goods come from a B-Corp-certified wholesaler.
Pricing
We try to be as fair on pricing as possible. We have two price points on most of our range - allowing our customers to 'level up' their choice.
We keep our margin as low as possible, but the small profit we make on most items allows us to pay the rent, insurance, and bills and take a small wage. As with all small businesses, your support is essential for us to stay open. Think about how you spend your hard-earned cash
